States and Canada for january, yihaaaa!

Trip in United States ~ Moderate difficulty
Put on your thermals and pack up your –20 sleeping bag, because my next destination will involve lots of SNOW! In the coldest month of the year, I will travel westwards, to the States and Canada. I will visit the areas around Chicago, San Francisco and Vancouver, to see new places, enjoy the wonders of winter, and challenge myself in the mountains again. Being from the Netherlands, I didn’t grow up with mountains at close range, I didn’t even grow up with wild spaces nearby. I still have lots to learn about surviving in the wild, but every step is a joy: nature is awe-inspiring! The most important reason for my trip however, are people. I made such wonderful new friends last year, when I got involved with the Pole to Pole Leadership Institute, and I think of them every day. Combining new adventures with old (well.. you get the idea) friends seems the right thing to do now… so let’s GO!
