Preparation is Key

Preparation is the key to enjoying any trip but especially a outdoors one. Both the gear and the hiker must be ready for the adventure ahead and if one isn’t up to the challenge accidents happen. This last month i had been keeping myself in shape, waiting for the time to arrive to embark on my next adventure, by running a few miles a week, doing small weight lifting, and the occasional yoga break. My body was a ready to go, next was the gear. I had my survival handbook (just in case), a gore-tex jacket, wool cap, boots and some power bars my gear was ready to go. The date was set but when the time finally a arrived the one thing that I forgot to check, the jeep, wouldn’t start. So here are some pictures of a nearby alternative. Next time I will check everything! The next trip will be somewhere in the Ozarks. Most likely in Arkansas, hopefully to do a little cave exploring.
