Hello Europe!

Trip in Germany ~ Beginner difficulty

Finally it’s time again! After a long winter’s break from my great project, it’s time for moving on across Europe. It was a long time ago I left from Marsberg, Sauerland in Germany after my last days of hiking on the European Long Distance Path E1 - now it’s time to revisit Marsberg and continue on the path that will finally lead me to Rome, Italy! Beginning from Saturday this week I will cross the hilly and green heart of Germany called Sauerland and move on to Freusburg near Siegen, crossing the border to Rheinland-Pfalz, which is a part of Southern Germany. 200 km. or so, that is the distance in total this time, and a good way closer to my goal! Did I mention it before? In 2012 I will reach Switzerland and the Alps - and from there it is just downhill all the way to Rome…

Next time I write here, you will have to read all about my trip - and, I guess, a lot about sauerkraut, weissbeers, aspargus (they are so great in Germany!) and new potatoes! But in the meantime, take care and make your own expeditions whereever you are. Bring a basket full of good stuff, maybe a bottle of white wine and a friend, lover or wife/husband. Believe me - it will be a success out there!
