Next to Ristuva, Meekknoken is my favourite neighbourhood mountain. But unfortunately it has hardly been accessible for weeks now. Until last week there was too much snow for hiking and too little snow for skiing. But last Sunday it was perfect!
There are a lot of paths leading to Meekknoken. I have tried 6 of them, but my favourite is the one that starts at Nekstadsetra. You can park by the Coop Marked at Bae. 200 meters up the main road you turn left and follow a forest road about 2,5 kilometres to Nekstadsetra where the path starts. You will need waterproof shoes,- a few places the path is boggy and wet. You might easily go from Nekstadsetra and back in 3 hours, but I don’t recommend that! There are so many beautiful viewpoints to enjoy on this trip, and on the top you have to sit down and admire the wonderful view!
