Freikollen 629m
Freikollen, the way we see it from Ristuva, Averøy.

Touristmap: Kristiansund 1 : 50 000 ( UGLAND IT-GROUP )

As you can se on the map, there are several routes leading to Freikollen. A lot of people in Frei and Kristiansund visit the top really often for exercise, they use the short and steep ones. If you are a "tourist" like me, visiting this top once or twice a year, I recomend a longer path.
You park your car near this sign, cross the road and there you find the start of the path. It has no sign nor waymarking, but it is well used and easy to find and to follow.
You start waking through a beautiful pine wood.
You must take a break and enjoy the wiev. Here I am looking back to Kristiansund.
The first 20 minutes the path is rather steep.
A small tarn.
Kristiansund. The city of Nordmøre.
On the top. Enjoying the beautiful wiev.
Looking south-east: Bergsøya, Gjemnessundbrua and Høgset.
Looking south: Kvernes, Averøy and Kvernesfjorden.
Looking west:
The north-west part of the most beautiful island in the world,- Averøy :-)
On our way home we walked through the walley at the west side of the top.
White anemones.
Grip Lighthouse in the middle of the picture. Greenland next.
Almost back by the tarn. Looking north we can see Smøla and Tustna.
This trip takes about 4 hours. Including a lot of breakes:-)
