SNØTIND 1027 M
Tourist map: Kristiansund 1: 50 000 (UGLAND IT GROUP)

Snøtind in Eide is the highest, and one of the most beautiful mountains in our area. It is high, it is steep and you have to exert yourself to reach the top,- but when you have done it, I’ll assure you that you feel it’s worth it. This is not a trip for wet and foggy days! You wait until the sun is shining, the trail is dry and hard, and you can spend an hour or two at the top. Sunbathing, eating, trying to count the mountains around you, planning the next trip and just relax and enjoy the view :-)
Reaching Eide you look for these signs: Høgset – Hytter – Ugelstadvegen – Bomveg (Toll road)
When you see this sign, you have reached the parking area where the trail starts.
There it is!
Walking through a steep birch wood.
The first break.
Near Gangrøra
At Gangrøra, 835 meters above sea level, we had our first meal break.
Reaching 835 m, we had to go downhill again.
Ready to start at the last, steep, mountainside.
We had to cross some small snowfields
If you are suffering from acrophobia: Don’t do this!
Near the top :-)
Saxifraga cernua
A few steep meters from the top.
We did it!
