Sometimes it snows in...June

Irena, Slovenia

The weather is crazy lately and temperatures are way below the average ones in June. Still I need to focus on my training for the expedition and so the weather should not matter
I try to spend all my free time in the mountains and the photos I want to share with you are from the last weekend. It snowed quite a lot there in the past week so the hiking conditions were interesting!
Anyway I really like this time of the year when the days are finally long enough to hike late in the evening when all becomes nice and quiet. Lately I try to gain speed while hiking since that is the key for the success on an 8000 m peak. It is frustrating from time to time but every minute matters and will matter also up there. This year Karakorum mountains are packed with climbers and we will join them in the second half of the season hoping to get the weather window to allow us to the summit of Nanga Parbat (8125m). So I still have some time to get ready
Cheers,
Irena
